The ERA-EDTA (European Renal Association-European Dialysis and Transplant Association) aims to encourage and report advances in the field of clinical nephrology, dialysis, renal transplantation and related subjects1. Here we provide information on their International Clinical Fellowship Program now open to young Asian investigators and clinicians including those in Indonesia.

For a long time, ERA-EDTA initiatives were limited to the European National Societies of Nephrology and Mediterranean Countries. However, over time it became evident that ERA-EDTA should extend its collaborations to those living in developing countries. This has led to the recent formation of the ERA-EDTA Committee for International Affairs (ComIA).

Through ComIA, ERA-EDTA now sponsors short- and long-term clinical fellowships. All fellowships must be performed in Europe, or bordering countries, and at the end of the training the fellow must return to his/her country of origin.

The next deadline to apply for a ComIA Clinical Fellowship is September 30, 2013. For more information, click here.
